Instructions for Using Eclipse Glasses

Looking directly at the Sun is dangerous. These glasses comply with ISO 12312-2:2015 for direct observation of the Sun. If you do not follow these instructions, do not use them.
  • Designed exclusively for direct observation of the Sun. Never observe partial or annular eclipses without solar filters.
  • Do not use with telescopes, binoculars, cameras, or other optical devices.
  • Limit continuous use of the eclipse glasses to 3 minutes at a time.
  • Before each use, inspect the filters. Do not use them if they have scratches, perforations, distortions, or any other damage.
  • Put on the glasses before looking at the Sun, and remove them only after looking away.
  • Limit continuous observation to 3 minutes, and rest for at least 30 seconds between viewing sessions.
  • If you experience discomfort, dizziness, or eye pain, stop observing immediately.
  • Children should always use them under the direct supervision of an adult.
  • During the totality of a total solar eclipse (when the Sun is completely covered), it is safe to observe without the glasses.
  • Put them back on immediately as soon as any part of the Sun reappears.
  • Store them in a dry place, without folding them, and protect them from direct light.
  • Do not reuse them unless they remain in perfect condition.

Recommended use: 3 years from the date of manufacture.
